Kolbnitz is part of the municipality of Reisseck, which lies between 600 m and 2.965 m above sea level. It has about 2.500 residents and is located admidst the Mölltal, at the foot of the Danielsberg. In the north you can see the 'Reisseckgruppe', in the south the 'Kreuzeckgruppe'.

How to get there

By car: On the motorway A10 from Salzburg, take the exit Mallnitz and then continue towards Kolbnitz. From the south: Tarvisio, motorway A2 until Villach, enter motorway A10 and continue until Spittal, take the exit Mallnitz and then towards Kolbnitz. By train: There is a railway station in the center of Kolbnitz, the next greater railway station is in Spittal an der Drau, distance about 25 km. By airplane: Salzburg airport: 160 km Klagenfurt airport: 100 km
