General information

Pichl, with its 900 inhabitants, lies 800 m above sea level and is located in the mountains, next to a river and the skiing area. The westernmost location of Styria, makes part of the centre of the Dachstein-Tauern region, which boasts the most beautiful mountainous landscapes in Austria. Because of this, Pichl/Mandling is also a well-loved holiday resort.

How to get there

Pichl can be comfortably reached by car and is well connected to public transport. By car: From Germany: through Salzburg to Radstadt on the A10 motorway, then take the B146 for 9 km to Pichl, next is Schladming. From Vienna: in the direction of Linz, travel to Amstetten on the western motorway, then take the Pyhrn-motorway to Liezen, then follow the B146 for 60 km to Pichl (half way between Schladming and Mandling). OR From Vienna: take the motorway to Semmering, then use the main road and motorway to get to Liezen, then follow the B146 for approx. 55 km to Pichl. From the south: Use the Tauern motorway (Udine-Tarvis-Villach) to Eben/Pg., then follow the B146 for 35 km to Pichl. From Graz: travel to Liezen on the motorway, then take the main road to Schladming and Pichl.
