At an altitude of 697 m, in the mountains and close to a skiing area, lies Schwendt, which, with its 730 inhabitants, is a genuine piece of the little-seen, original and traditional Tryrolean region. Schwendt is a village for nature lovers, who don't seek the perfect hotel and a large programme of events, but who value such things in the vicinity. The idyllic, relaxing village of Schwendt lies just 4 km away from Kössen, on the western foothill of the 'Unterberghorn', with an impressive view of the northern side of the 'Wilder Kaiser' mountain.

How to get there

By car: Inntal motorway from Munich to Innsbruck (exit Oberaudorf), or the Salzburg motorway (exit Bernau) By train: Kufsein or St. Johann/Tirol station, then catch a bus to Schwendt By plane: Munich or Innsbruck airport
